Meet the BAS Sandusky Staff

MEET THE BAS SANDUSKY TEAM!

Troy Baumgartner

Operations Manager & Morning Mix Host

troybaumgartner@basbroadcasting.com

Troy Baumgartner Bio PicI’m blessed with a beautiful family: my amazing wife Emily, our two energetic kids Mac and Charlotte, two cats named Winnie and Boba (yes, that Boba BIG Star Wars nerd here), and our dog Josie, who clawed her way to local stardom as a former Morning Mix Mutt. It’s a full house, and that’s just the humans and animals. After we add in the laundry and us figuring out what we would like to have for dinner; it’s a sitcom waiting to happen.

Music? I love it all. Music gives us every emotion possible… mostly because the artists have already lived through the heartbreak and weird dance phases, so we don’t have to. My mission? To play something that lifts you up or keeps the good vibes rolling. And when all else fails I default to the boy band era… NSYNC forever (Sorry, not sorry.)

I’m also a massive sports fan. I call high school games whenever I can, and root for all the Cleveland teams; yes, even the Browns. I also cheer for the Michigan Wolverines, and before you throw something, let me explain. I’ve got a perfectly good reason. Just ask.

Outside of the studio, I love to golf, especially on those rare days I’m good at it. And when I’m not? Well, I just tell myself I’m getting my money’s worth by exploring every part of the course.

When I’m not on the mic or chauffeuring children to ball fields and dance classes, we’re out and about enjoying everything this great community has to offer. If you see us out, don’t be a stranger, say hi!

Audra Sennish

Digital & Broadcast Production/Promotions Manager

audrasennish@basbroadcasting.com

Audra Sennish bio picI was put on this earth to do two things: talk and sing!

Hi, I’m Audra Sennish, a proud Sandusky, OH native and Perkins High School grad (Class of 2019). I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Commercial Music from Tiffin University in 2023, then went on to complete my MBA in Marketing in 2024 (What can I say?…I love school). Before my final year of undergraduate studies at TU, I interned with BAS Broadcasting in Sandusky, where I discovered my passion for radio and found a creative home. That internship turned into a full-time job, and I’ve been loving it ever since. Radio combines all my passions, and I’m excited to keep developing fun, engaging promotions that bring the community together.

Music and performing have always been part of who I am. My mom says she used to hear me singing all the time through the baby monitor. I dabble in ukulele, bass, guitar, piano, clarinet, saxophone, and, of course, singing. My duo partner, Evan Watt, and I perform across Sandusky, Port Clinton, Tiffin, Findlay, and Medina, and we’re hoping to expand our reach even further. You can also stream my solo music under the name AUDRA on all platforms. I’ve loved performing since I was six and have appeared in 17 theatrical productions, taking on roles like Maureen in RENT and Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol. There’s no role I won’t try.

When I’m not on stage or behind a mic singing or talking, I love reading, writing, shopping with my mom, drinking coffee, eating sushi, binge-watching TV shows, playing pickleball with my boyfriend, scrolling social media, and walking my parents’ dog, Freddie.

Family means everything to me. My mom’s my best friend, even if she quilts and I don’t. My dad doesn’t say much, so I talk enough for both of us. My brother got the performance gene, too (and the ability to draw, which I didn’t). And then there’s my boyfriend, Daulton. We met in college through our music program and have been together almost six years.

Since I’m a yapper, come say hi anytime. I’d love to keep making meaningful connections here in the great city of Sandusky!

Steve Shoffner

News Director

steveshoffner@basbroadcasting.com

I started working at WLEC / WCPZ in January of 1994, after previously working for several years in TV sports.  I would never have imagined back then that I would still be here today providing you with all of the local news of the day, especially since my radio work day starts at 3 AM!

I value the connections I have made in our local communities with various news makers and community leaders.  They are willing to share their information with me and in turn to all of you throughout northern Ohio.  My ability to share information immediately with all of you is what makes us unique and fuels my passion for radio.  I can receive a phone call from a news source (Sheriff / Police Chief / Public Health Official) and turn that around into a live broadcast in just minutes.

One of my professional highlights was being invited to the White House with other county executive leaders in Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky to discuss our needs and priorities.  I was then interviewed by various TV network outlets about those meetings in front of the West Wing.

When I am not on the air, you can find me working as one of three elected Erie County commissioners (since 2019).  You will hear “county” news on the radio from time to time, but the news coverage I provide to our listeners has not changed in format or content while I have been a commissioner.

I have also been a US Coast Guard licensed boat captain, working for more than 15 years as a towboat captain with the local TowBoat US franchise in Sandusky.

Free time for me consists of spending time with my wife Kay and our cairn terrier Toula and getting out on the water to go boating…. And of course riding roller coasters or catching a sunset at Cedar Point.

Maria Shrock

Account Executive

mariashrock@basbroadcasting.com

Maria Shrock bio picHey, I’m Maria Shrock. I am a seasoned radio professional with a vibrant career spanning  over 35 years in Ohio & Michigan. Mostly in small-town markets, I’ve worn many hats in the  industry, always bringing energy, authenticity, and a genuine love for broadcasting in every  role.

Currently I reside in the lakeside town of Marblehead, Ohio, I share life with my husband  and find relaxation in the slower pace of the Village/Township. The beauty of Lake Erie  provides a peaceful backdrop to my life, offering moments of reflection and inspiration that  fuel my ongoing work in radio and media. Even after decades in the radio business, I remain as enthusiastic and committed as ever, and contributing my experience to projects I truly  believe in.

Family is at the heart of everything. I’m a proud mother of two grown children and the  adoring grandmother of two grandsons, who are the light of my life. I love traveling to visit them all in Las Vegas and Wyoming.

Outside the stations, I’m a lover of natural beauty and quiet wonder. My joys are catching  sunrises and sunsets—especially near the water or high in the mountains. These moments  of stillness remind me of the simple joys in life. Whether creating a successful radio  campaign for my clients or watching the sky shift with color, I approach each day with  gratitude, grace, and an enduring sense of wonder.

Mike Frey

Account Executive

mikefrey@basbroadcasting.com

Mike Frey bio picHi everyone, my name is Mike Frey and I’ve worked in the Radio industry for 20 years this September. My love of Radio goes all the way back to childhood when I would make my own Mixtapes and give them away to fellow music lovers in school and around town. My entire career in Radio has been here in the Sandusky / Northern Ohio market and it has truly been a blessing. I have made many friends through the years in Radio, and it has been an honor to help and watch these friends grow their business and families. I’ve watched many of their kids grow into adulthood and start careers and families of their own.

When I’m not helping friends grow their business, you’ll probably find me in my yard or garden trying to grow food and flowers. I love gardening and the peace it gives me and hey, you get free tomatoes. I also love it when I get to play music LIVE with my friends. Being a musician has taught me the value of listening and knowing when it’s your turn to play which I try to bring when I’m talking with friends and clients…. listen and know when it’s your turn to talk.

My biggest joy in life comes from my family. My beautiful wife Carrie and I love just hanging out with each other and coming up with exciting and healthy meals. We especially enjoy celebrating “FREYDAY” every Friday evening…get it FREYDAY…haha…when we usually come up with our best diner ideas and spend time around our yard admiring all the pretty flowers and figuring out what we can pick from the garden for dinner.  We also enjoy every minute we get to spend with my 10-year-old grandson. His energy and excitement inspire me to always stay young at heart. He is truly my little hero.

At the end of the day, I would just say I’m a blessed man. I have a beautiful family, a career I truly enjoy, great friends and live in one of the best areas of the country. It doesn’t get any better than this and hey, I get FREE tomatoes.

Kevin Rasnick

Account Executive

kevinrasnick@basbroadcasting.com

I bring more than ten years of radio experience, including broadcasting local high school sports and serving as an Account Executive. My passion has always been my community. For two years, I led the Huron County Chamber of Commerce (now the Huron County Growth Partnership) before returning to the radio industry in late 2025. I truly enjoy working with local businesses—our communities’ backbone—and nothing makes me happier than helping them grow and succeed.

I’m a 2003 graduate of Monroeville High School, where my wife and I first started dating as sophomores. Today, we live in Norwalk with our twin boys, Brycen and Carson, whom we adopted as newborns in 2018. They are my world, and being their dad is my greatest joy.

In my free time, I enjoy golfing, collecting sports cards, firing up the smoker, and exploring nature preserves with my family. My favorite food is chicken parmesan. My favorite bands include Korn, Pearl Jam, and Queen, and my favorite movie is The Dark Knight. I’m also an Ohio State and Cleveland sports fan—which, depending on the year, can be either a lot of fun or a test of patience!

Katie Boissoneault

Community Focus Talent/Part-Time Employee

katieboissoneault@basbroadcasting.com

Katie Boissoneault bio picHi, I’m a part time employee for BAS Broadcasting and I help with production, community focus, social media, and Certified Homegrown Artists. I am also a recurring contestant on Fake News or Florida.

When I’m not working at the station, I spend my time working various jobs in the arts! I’m a member of the Cleveland Public Theatre core ensemble and I’m an actress represented by the Talent Group. I also help paint and construct sets for Talespinner Children’s Theatre. I have worked on some films in Ohio including Sandusky’s own Swan Song. (You can see me talking to Jennifer Coolidge in the salon!) I help write and edit the Excavator Comic book series and I work at a boutique in Lakewood that sells items made by small artists.

I live west of Cleveland nowadays, but I grew up in Sandusky and graduated from Sandusky High School. I went to college at Miami University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a co-major in film studies and a minor in fashion. I think that the arts are so important, and that’s one of the many reasons I love working in radio!

Payton Vince

The Pre-Game Host/Seasonal Board-Op/Part-Time Employee

Payton Vince bio picHello there, my name is Payton Vince, and I’ve been a part of BAS Broadcasting since 2019. I graduated in July of 2015 from Ohio Media School.

When I’m not doing “The PreGame” alongside Troy Baumgartner on Fridays or running the boards for High School Football and Basketball games, I am an avid Cleveland Guardians fan and have been since birth. While I do root for most Cleveland teams, I am not a Cleveland Browns fan. I grew up since the age of four as a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

I have an incredible family. I have a dog named Scottie, and he’s been my buddy since 2020. I also have 3 brothers and sisters, as well as 11 nieces and nephews.

Outside of work and family life, you can more than likely find me in some capacity at Progressive Field for a Guardians game. I have been deemed the “high five guy” from a group at the Right Field Corner and ever since that day I’ve run with the mantra.

I’m a big fan of comedy, including stand up comedians and podcasts as well.

Overall, I enjoy the simple things in life; I enjoy spending time with friends and taking in a ballgame. Laughter is healing at the end of the day, as well as being a positive light amongst groups of people in front of you. I may not be perfect, but if I can make an impact in some capacity, I feel like I did well.

Feel free to Connect with me on X : https://x.com/PaytonVince

Brodie Bibler

Seasonal Board-Op/Part-Time Employee

Hi, I’m Brodie Bibler! I was a student at Perkins High School (24’ graduate), and enrolled in our work-Release/internship program and asked my teachers if it was possible for me to do something with my voice. By pure luck my teacher ran into Troy Baumgartner, and a week later, I had an internship here at BAS Broadcasting in Sandusky. I’ve been here since September of 2022, and I grow more and more in love with radio every day!

When I’m not here at the station, I’m busy working on creating a culture for Great Lakes Music & Media! After graduating college in Apr 25’, I started my own business where I focus on spotlighting music artists and media creators from the great lakes region! We bring our local community to a global audience! I started with this company with a classmate who shared my vision, and together, we’ve been able to build a collaborative community of valuable individuals and organizations. Freshwater Music & Media LLC.

Music and performance are very important things to me. Before (and after) falling in love with radio, I was the lead in a couple of Fall Plays for Perkins HS! You might remember me as Peter Pan, Ebeneezer Scrooge, or maybe even Mr.Wormwood! I love performing and putting on a show. I think that’s what subconsciously made me drift towards radio, and I’m forever grateful that I ended up here!

I’m not the most social individual, but I will never shy away from a conversation! If you see me out in public, come say hi! Sandusky will forever and always be my home. I wouldn’t try looking anywhere else for me. But if you drive by Cobb’s Ice Cream or Musician’s Alley, there’s a good chance you might find me there.

ON-AIR TALENT

MARK ELLIOTT 6am-10am

Mark Elliott is our music man…and it’s been his dream ever since he was a kid delivering newspapers. His dad even bought him a small tape recorder to produce his own radio “show.” His first gig was at a college radio station, and since then, he’s worked at radio stations across the country, including Tampa, Cincinnati, St. Louis, and Detroit. Mark loves music, telling stories, and pampering his three grandkids.

BILL KNIGHT 10am-3pm

Bill is a radio veteran who grew up in Fresno California, where he began his radio career while in High School. In his free time, he’s a motorcycle enthusiast and also loves travel, spending time with family and friends and most all outdoor recreation. He is also heavily involved with the community and church.

3PM-8PM – DOC JARNAGIN

Doc grew up on Memphis radio back in the mid-70’s and throughout the 80’s where Rick Dees got his start. Instead of watching TV in the family room, Doc was in his room listening to the radio and falling in love with the medium. He still believes in the magic radio can bring. Radio reflects lifestyles with music, information, and personality, and Doc loves being a part of that, forever remembering his days as that kid in his room being drawn to the power of radio.

BYRD 8PM-12midnight

Byrd worked in Chicago for many years. He is an avid concert goer and has interviewed many artists in his career. Byrd loves playing the WLEC Great American Hits of the 60’s and 70’s as he learned to love the music his parents listened to as a youngster. Byrd keeps you company every weeknight!
